Joe's Slate

  I don't know how exactly it started, Two pens for a highlighter, I'd just bartered. A sudden creak of the windows, A tornado approaching, the TV shows. People trying to evacuate, The sight of the storm, not so immaculate. I immediately lift my pooch, Vegas, Oof he's heavy, he always takes the bus. I take my bik, Vegas in the front, I start to pedal with a huge grunt. In the distance, there's a bunker, People crowded on a tractor. Everyone has one goal, Trying to save their soul. Trying not to turn into a legend of gothic, The same reason everyone frolics. Finally we reach there,  There's no food to spare, To get more food who would dare, At the corner of the bunker is a random mare. Suddenly there's a small creak, People think it's a water leak. By reading each letter, I think you guys know better.

  It's 10 o'  clock now, To greet the teacher we bow, To survive school, tell me how, And at the distance, Tom's milking a cow. Regular mailman shuffles in, The girl drops the waste in a bin, In class, talking to someone is a sin, That the devil's watching with a grin. Leaves falling on the pavement, Kids screaming about time management. War cries from the contingent, Why are we forced to compliment. Chalk dust floating about, Learning what is a sprout... And Lo! There's a cherry blossom, Scurrying on its branches is a possum. Seeing the tree makes me smile, I think it's been there a while, The teacher leaves with a flow, Oh! It's 11 o' clock now.

Everytime, Anytime, All the time, They just need you for a dime. They treat you like a doormat  and push you from the place you sat. You try your best to indulge, It's always their decision, they don't budge You need to be there for them, At their doorstep with a sunhemp. The years, as they go by, To even talk to you, they're shy. Oh, where are the old ones, You did this to them once. Better you heed my advice, Rather than be treated like ice. Let a new and fresh start commence, Don't turn to those who deserve your silence.
